Discount & Access Codes
Create promotional discounts and control ticket access with codes.
Overview
Delvent offers two types of codes:
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Discount Codes | Reduce ticket price (percentage or fixed amount) |
| Access Codes | Control who can register for your event |
Discount Codes
Creating a Discount Code
- Go to Event → Manage → Settings
- Expand Discount Codes
- Click Create Code
Discount Settings
Code Name
The text attendees enter at checkout:
- Make it memorable:
EARLYBIRD,VIP50,SPEAKER - Maximum 20 characters
Discount Type
Percentage Off
- Enter percentage (e.g., 20 for 20% off)
- Applied to ticket subtotal
Fixed Amount
- Enter amount (e.g., 10 for $10 off)
- Currency matches ticket currency
Applicable Tickets
Choose which tickets the code works for:
- All Tickets - Works on any ticket
- Specific Tickets - Select which tickets
Validity Period (Optional)
When the code is active:
- Start Date & Time - When code becomes valid
- End Date & Time - When code expires
Leave empty for no time restrictions.
Usage Limits
Maximum Uses Total times the code can be used:
- Set a number (e.g., 100 uses)
- Leave blank for unlimited
Usage Count Track how many times it's been used (view only).
Managing Discount Codes
Viewing Codes
Each code shows:
- Code text
- Discount value (percentage or fixed amount)
- Usage count (and limit if set)
- Active/Inactive status
Viewing Usage Details
Click on the usage count to see:
- Total uses
- Each usage with date and discount amount applied
Toggling Active Status
Use the toggle switch to activate or deactivate a code:
- Inactive codes won't work at checkout
- Usage history is preserved
Deleting Codes
Click the trash icon to delete a code:
- Click Delete icon
- Confirm deletion
Deleting a code is permanent and cannot be undone.
Access Codes
Purpose
Access codes control who can register for your event. Use for:
- Invite-only events
- Member-exclusive access
- Partner company registrations
- Controlled beta testing
Access codes only appear when Require Access Code is enabled in your event settings.
Enabling Access Codes
- Go to Event → Manage → Settings
- Toggle Require Access Code on
- The Manage Access Codes section will appear
Creating an Access Code
- Click Create Code
- Configure settings:
Access Code (Optional)
- Enter a custom code (e.g.,
VIP2026,EARLYBIRD) - Leave empty to auto-generate a unique code
Usage Limit (Optional)
- Set maximum number of uses
- Leave empty for unlimited uses
Apply to Specific Tickets (Optional)
- Select which tickets this code unlocks
- Leave empty to unlock all tickets
How Access Codes Work
- Attendee visits your event page
- Sees "Enter Access Code" prompt
- Enters their code
- If valid, registration form appears
- Completes registration normally
Managing Access Codes
Each code shows:
- Code text (with copy button)
- Which tickets it applies to
- Usage count (and limit if set)
- Active/Inactive status
Toggling Active Status
Use the toggle to activate or deactivate codes.
Deleting Codes
Click the trash icon to permanently delete a code.

- Create discount code

- Create 100% discount code
- Share individually with speakers
- Limit to 1 use each
Early Supporters
- Create early bird discount
- Time-limited validity

Social Media Promotion
- Create shareable discount code
- "Use code SOCIAL20 for 20% off"
- Track social media effectiveness
Tracking Usage
Discount Codes
Click on the usage count for any discount code to see:
- Total number of uses
- Each individual use with timestamp and discount amount
Access Codes
View usage count directly on each access code card.
Troubleshooting
Discount Code Not Working
- Check spelling
- Verify validity dates haven't passed
- Check usage limit not reached
- Confirm code applies to the selected ticket
Access Code Not Working
- Verify the code is active
- Check usage limit not reached
- Confirm code applies to the ticket being purchased
